Snow Day Catch Up

Snow days are glorious things. This one came at a most welcome time and I really feel like it let me breath and catch up a little bit.
What's new? Well, before any updates, I need to pass along a little Valentine's message from Mr. Pink:

It's true. He loves you. He loves everyone everyday--not just on Valentine's Day. He's what we call a kitty ho. But we're lucky to have him

Onwards.
The other weekend I made a trip out to Frederick Maryland to pick up a little lady. She was cheap too. (I dread to see what kind of google searches will pull up my blog now!)

I'm very pleased with "her." The guy I bought her from had two of these ladies strapped into seatbelts in his car. It was a pretty funny site. I just put her in the trunk. But she's no worse for the wear. And now she's all bundled up in the scarves I just finished putting buttons on. (Yes, the one's I've been promising to put up on my site.) Good thing too. It is really cold in my little sewing room. It's a glorified closet with no insulation. Brrr.
I also got a chance to go through more of my button collection today and did some cleaning. I even tried to do the "bakelite" test with 409 --I read that the scrubing bubbles test is out now because they changed their formula recently. Either I have no bakelite--entirely possible or I just don't know what I'm looking for. there were a couple buttons that had a different kind of 'clunk' noise and felt heavier, but who knows. Anyone have pictures of the results of the test?
What else is happening?
This year I'm not participating in the Happily Handmade Giveaway but I thought I'd give it a plug anyway. I believe all the sponsors just started taking entired for the prizes.
